Reported markets use public registration, retail-sales, or industry tables. Estimate markets use annual public totals, then allocate volume across months with a quarter-end delivery pattern based on observed UK monthly registrations. U.S. monthly values are a Cox annual estimate distributed by quarter.
The page keeps prediction-market and analyst-consensus references separate from country-level registrations. They are useful for quarterly sanity checks, not for treating a country month as reported sales.
This map is a research surface, not an audited sales database. China is mapped as domestic retail sales from CPCA-linked reporting, so Shanghai exports are excluded from the China country value. Europe mixes public monthly registrations where available with annual-to-month estimates for markets where public monthly data was not safely collected in bulk. Add local monthly registration files later to replace any estimate-tagged rows.
